There is no parking fee, and the area is open to visitors.

If you are using public transport, take a bus from Akureyri to Mývatn. Bus services such as Strætó operate along this route. From the Mývatn bus stop, you will need to take a taxi or arrange a rideshare, as there are no direct public transport options to Hofdi. The taxi fare may vary, but generally expect to pay around ISK 5,000-7,000 for a short trip to Hofdi. Be sure to check the bus schedules beforehand, as they may not run frequently.
