Getting There

  To reach Namaskardh by car, start from the town of Egilsstaðir. Head west on Route 1 (the Ring Road) for approximately 50 kilometers until you reach the junction for Route 26. Take the exit onto Route 26 and continue for about 30 kilometers until you reach the junction for Route 1 again. Turn left onto Route 1 and continue northwest for about 10 kilometers. Look for signs directing you to Namaskardh. The geothermal area is located just off the main road, and there is a parking area available.

• Public Transportation

  If you're using public transportation, take a bus from Egilsstaðir towards Akureyri. Make sure to check the schedule on the Strætó website for the most up-to-date information. You will need to get off at the stop nearest to the Namaskardh area, which may require you to walk a short distance to the site. Be aware that bus services may not be frequent, so plan your trip accordingly to ensure you have enough time to explore.

• Taxi

  For a more direct route without a car, consider hiring a taxi from Egilsstaðir to Namaskardh. This option can be more expensive, typically costing around 15,000 to 20,000 ISK one way, but it provides the convenience of direct transport to the geothermal area. Ensure you negotiate the fare or confirm the meter is running before beginning your journey.
