Walking
From the center of Olafsvik, start at the main bus stop located on Laugavegur street. Head south towards the coastline, following the signs towards the harbor. Continue straight until you reach the harbor area, which will take approximately 15 minutes. Once at the harbor, look for a marked trail that leads to Arnarstapi. The path will be a scenic walk along the coast, offering beautiful views of the ocean and cliffs. Follow this trail for about 1.5 kilometers (around 30 minutes of walking). You will pass by several stunning rock formations and possibly see some birdlife. As you get closer to Arnarstapi, keep an eye out for the Gatklettur rock arch, which is located along the coastline. The entire walk may take around 45-60 minutes depending on your pace.

From Olafsvik, head to the main bus stop at Laugavegur street. Check the local bus schedule for the route to Arnarstapi, as buses may not run frequently. Board the bus heading towards Arnarstapi, and enjoy the scenic ride, which should take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Arnarstapi bus stop, head towards the coastline where you will find signs directing you to Gatklettur. The rock arch is just a short 10-minute walk from the bus stop along the coastal path.
