Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Olafsvik, head towards the main road, which is called Brekkugata. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with the ring road (Route 54). Cross the road carefully and continue walking towards the direction of Hellissandur. After about 30 minutes, you will see signs pointing towards Hellissandur. Continue walking along the road for another 20 minutes. You will pass by scenic views of the coastline. Once you reach Hellissandur, look for Útnesvegur on your left. The Sjómannagarður is located at Útnesvegur 360, and will be on your right side.

    From the central bus stop in Olafsvik, catch the bus heading towards Hellissandur. Ensure you check the bus timetable for the correct service, as the frequency may vary. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Hellissandur, disembark at the nearest stop, and walk towards Útnesvegur. The Sjómannagarður is located at Útnesvegur 360, which is about a 5-minute walk from the bus stop. Follow the signs towards Útnesvegur, and you will find the location on your right.
