Starting from the center of Olafsvik, head towards the coast on Strandgata street. Continue along this road until you reach the intersection with the Suðurgata street. Turn left onto Suðurgata and follow it until you see a sign for Hellissandur. This will take you out of Olafsvik and towards the coastal road. Continue walking for about 5 kilometers. Once you reach the area near Hellissandur, look for the entrance to the hiking trail leading to Saxhóll Crater. The trail is well-marked and will guide you to the crater itself.
