Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the city center near the Harpa Concert Hall, head southwest on Austurbakki street towards the main road, then turn right onto Tryggvagata. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Lækjargata, where you turn left. Follow Lækjargata until you reach the main square, then continue straight onto Hverfisgata. After a few blocks, turn right onto Skólavörðustígur street, which leads directly up to Hallgrimskirkja. The church will be visible on your left as you approach Hallgrímstorg.

  • Public Transport

    From the city center, you can take bus number 14 or 15 from the Bus Station (Strætó). Board the bus heading towards 'Hagafell' and disembark at the stop called 'Hallgrimskirkja.' After you get off, walk a short distance towards the church which will be directly in front of you at Hallgrímstorg 1.

  • Bicycle

    If you are renting a bicycle in the city, head northwest from the center along the waterfront. Follow the bike path along the coastline until you reach the intersection with Lækjargata. Turn right onto Lækjargata, then continue straight until reaching Hverfisgata. Turn right onto Hverfisgata and then left onto Skólavörðustígur street, which will take you directly to Hallgrimskirkja.
