If you are in the center of Reykjavík, you can reach Tjörnin by walking. Start at Hallgrímskirkja (the iconic church). Head down Skólavörðustígur street towards the main shopping street, Laugavegur. When you reach the junction, turn left onto Laugavegur and walk until you reach the intersection with Hverfisgata. Turn right onto Hverfisgata and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Tjörnin. Tjörnin will be on your left, a beautiful lake surrounded by greenery.
