If you are starting from the city center (e.g., Hallgrímskirkja), head southwest towards Skólavörðustígur street. Continue down Skólavörðustígur until you reach Laugavegur street. Turn left on Laugavegur and walk until you reach the intersection with Sæbraut. Turn right onto Sæbraut, and continue walking straight. As you walk, you will see the Sun Voyager sculpture ahead near the waterfront.
