Once you arrive at the Reykjavík bus terminal, follow the signs to the bus stop for local buses. Take bus number 20 towards Kistuhylur. Get off at the Árbær stop. From there, it’s a short 5-minute walk to Árbær Open Air Museum, located at Kistuhylur 110.

    If you prefer walking, from the center of Selfoss, head towards the main road, Þjóðvegur 1. Follow this road for about 5 kilometers until you reach the bus stop for the Reykjavík bus. From there, board the bus number 1 to Reykjavík. Upon arrival at the Reykjavík bus terminal, switch to bus number 20 towards Kistuhylur and disembark at the Árbær stop. Walk for about 5 minutes to reach the museum.

    For those who enjoy cycling, rent a bicycle in Selfoss and head towards Þjóðvegur 1. Follow this road for about 5 kilometers to reach the bus stop for Reykjavík.
