South Coast Private Tour: Waterfalls, Beaches and More

Amazing and well worth the cost

We (my wife and i) actually booked 2 separate tours on 2 different days, plus transport to and from airport both ways. Celebrating our 20th anniversary, so tested ourselves a bit. Short version: this is a great company and deal, well worth it for all, and the guides and drivers are great, particularly Omar and Coco. We got in to Reykjavik early in the morning, and Omar picked us up. He was on time, helpful, friendly, and the car was super clean. Helped us load our bags in the car. We did the option to stop for a few hours at Blue lagoon on the way into the city, and it was a great choice - can leave all your bags in the car and relax. Pro tip: reach out after booking to extend the time of the stop by an extra hour. It's an extra fee but we'll worth it. The next day, Coco was our guide for a South Coast tour. Just my wife and me in a private car. We were with her all day, and she is AMAZING. Super knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating, and just a really good person. It was like we had a friend showing us around - she really makes it THAT comfortable. We saw waterfalls, the glacier, and the black sand beach. We had a nice sit down lunch with her towards the end of the tour, and it felt like catching up with an old friend we hadn't seen in a while. It costs a little more than group tours (but not nearly as much as you'd think), but I can't stress how much it is worth the money. We could do everything at our own pace, see what we wanted, and feel like we had a local friend as a guide. If you are thinking of doing it - go for it. You will not regret it. The third day we did our own thing during the day, but then did Hvammsvik and northern lights tour at night. Omar was again our guide, and again was great. The guides for this company are just so nice and friendly, it's amazing. We saw some aurora, but unfortunately the weather wasn't great to see it. But Omar still found a spot where we were able to see some. As for Hvammsvik - that place is amazing. We absolutely loved it there. Finally the day we left we used the company for the return trip to the airport, and it again went off without a hitch. If you are researching for your own trip, use this company without hesitation. The guides are GREAT, and getting private tours at these rates is amazing. Doing everything at your own pace, and getting to know the guides, is just a great experience. We are already planning to use them again when we come back (next tour- golden circle!)

Great Experience with North Escape

We only had two days in Iceland and were struggling to find an itinerary that would allow us to see as much as possible. After doing a lot of research, we decided on North Escape—and we’re so glad we did! Alex planned a relaxing first day for us, starting with a visit to the Blue Lagoon and then some time to explore Reykjavík on our own and get our bearings. On our second day, we enjoyed a private, full-day tour that included: * Golden Circle highlights * South Coast highlights * Spectacular waterfalls * Black sand beach * Scenic stops along the way We started at 7:30 a.m., and Alex planned the day perfectly. We had plenty of quality time at each stop without ever feeling rushed. The day even included a lovely, leisurely lunch in Vík. We arrived back at our hotel around 7:30 p.m. Alex was an exceptional guide—considerate, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and very attentive to what we wanted to see and do. His planning made it possible to experience so much of Iceland in just two days, while still keeping the pace enjoyable and relaxed. Most importantly, we genuinely enjoyed his company throughout the day. We would highly recommend North Escape and Alex to anyone visiting Iceland.

He was extremely knowledgeable and shared so much about what we were seeing. He also ensured we saw as much as possible on this tour.
