From the center of Skaftafell, head east on Route 1 (the Ring Road) towards Höfn. After approximately 5 kilometers, you will see a sign indicating Skaftafellsheidhi on your right. Turn onto the gravel path leading into the area. Follow the road for about 1 kilometer until you reach the designated parking area. Note that parking may incur a small fee, typically around 800 ISK.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take the bus from Skaftafell towards Höfn. Check the schedule at the Skaftafell Visitor Center for the latest bus timings. Get off at the stop for Skaftafellsheidhi, which is approximately 5 kilometers from the center of Skaftafell. From the bus stop, it is a short walk (about 1 kilometer) along a marked path to the area. Make sure to check for the return bus schedule as well.
