From the Skaftafell Visitor Center, head towards the Svartifoss sign located near the entrance. The trail begins just a short walk from the Visitor Center. Follow the well-marked path, which will lead you through beautiful landscapes, including birch woods and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The trail is approximately 1.5 kilometers (about 1 mile) long and should take around 45 minutes to 1 hour to reach Svartifoss.

If you are arriving by car, park in the Skaftafell Visitor Center parking lot. The coordinates for the parking area are approximately 64.0275396 latitude and -16.9752231 longitude. From the parking lot, follow the signs to the Svartifoss Trail. Note that there is a parking fee of around 1,000 ISK (Icelandic Króna) for up to 24 hours, so ensure to have cash or a card ready.
