Car
From Skaftafell, head southeast on Route 1 (the Ring Road) towards Höfn. After approximately 5 km, watch for the Svinafellsjokull parking area sign on your left. Turn left onto a gravel road that leads to the parking area. Park your car there; it's free of charge. From the parking area, follow the marked paths that lead directly to the glacier. The walk from the parking area to the glacier is about 30 minutes and is relatively easy.

Take the bus from Skaftafell to Höfn, which operates a few times a day. Once you arrive in Höfn, you can hire a taxi or join a guided tour that includes Svinafellsjokull as part of their itinerary. Ensure you check the bus schedule in advance as services may vary depending on the season.
