    If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the town of Stykkishólmur, which is approximately 37 km (23 miles) from Kirkjufell Mountain. Take Route 54 south for about 30 km, then merge onto Route 58. Continue on Route 58 until you reach Route 1 (Ring Road). Turn left onto Route 1 and drive for about 8 km. You will see Kirkjufell Mountain on your left as you approach the town of Grundarfjörður. There is a parking area available near the base of the mountain, which is free of charge.
