Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Snæfellsbær. Head northwest on Snæfellsnesvegur (Route 54). Continue driving for approximately 20 km. You will pass through beautiful landscapes and small villages along the way. Look for a sign that indicates Ölkelduvatn Mineral Spring, located on the left side of the road. There is a small parking area available for visitors, and you can park your car here to access the spring.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from Snæfellsbær towards Ólafsvík. Make sure to check the local bus schedule for the latest timings as they can vary. Get off at the stop nearest to Ölkelduvatn Mineral Spring (you may need to ask the driver for the closest stop, as not every bus may stop directly at the spring). From the bus stop, you can walk approximately 500 meters along Snæfellsnesvegur to reach the mineral spring. Be sure to check the bus return times to avoid getting stranded.

• Bicycle

  If you're feeling adventurous, you can also cycle to Ölkelduvatn Mineral Spring. Rent a bicycle in Snæfellsbær and follow the same route as when driving. It is about a 20 km ride, and the route is relatively flat and scenic. Remember to wear a helmet and stay safe on the road. Once you arrive, you can park your bike in the designated area near the spring.
