Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Snæfellsbær, head west on Road 54 towards Ólafsvík. Continue on Route 54 for approximately 6.5 kilometers (4 miles). Look for a sign indicating Sönghellir Cave. Turn onto the gravel road leading to the cave. The parking area is just a short walk from the cave entrance. Please note that the road may be bumpy, so a 4WD vehicle is recommended, especially in inclement weather.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take the bus from Snæfellsbær to Ólafsvík. Check the local bus schedules for the latest routes and times. Upon arriving in Ólafsvík, you may need to hire a taxi to reach Sönghellir Cave, as it is approximately 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) from the bus stop. Taxis can be booked in advance or found at the bus station.
Walking
If you're already near the cave and prefer walking, follow any marked trails from the nearby parking area. The walk to the cave entrance is about 300 meters (0.2 miles), and there are signs indicating the path to take. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes, as the terrain can be uneven.
