Walking
To get to Hjorleifshöfði from the center of Vík, start at the Vík í Mýrdal Church, which is located on a hill overlooking the town. From the church, head southeast on the main road (Route 1) for about 1 kilometer until you reach the sign for Hjörleifshöfði. You will see a small road leading off to the right that is marked but not heavily trafficked. Follow this road for another 1.5 kilometers until you arrive at the base of the mountain. The trailhead is marked, and you can start your hike up to the peak from there.

If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bicycle in Vík. Start at the bike rental shop and ride southeast along Route 1. Follow the same route as if you were walking, about 1 kilometer to the Hjörleifshöfði sign.
