Getting There

• Car

  If you are starting from Coeur d'Alene, ID, head south on I-95 S for about 24 miles. Take exit 43 for ID-53 toward Rathdrum. Turn left onto ID-53 E and continue for about 10 miles. Merge onto ID-5 E and follow it for approximately 16 miles until you reach the junction with ID-95. Turn left onto ID-95 S and follow for about 20 miles. Turn right onto ID-6 E toward Fernwood. After about 12 miles, turn left onto Emerald Creek Rd. Follow this road for about 3 miles until you reach the Emerald Creek Garnet Area.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, take the Greyhound bus to Lewiston, ID. From Lewiston, you can arrange for a local taxi or rideshare service to take you to Emerald Creek Garnet Area. The taxi ride will be approximately 30 miles and may cost between $50 to $70, so be sure to confirm the fare before starting your journey. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance to coordinate your arrival time.

• Bicycle

  For those who are adventurous and wish to bike to Emerald Creek, you can start from the town of Fernwood. From Fernwood, head south on ID-6 E. After approximately 5 miles, turn left onto Emerald Creek Rd. Expect a challenging ride with some elevation changes, but the scenery is beautiful.
