If you are driving from downtown Boise, head northeast on W Idaho St toward N 8th St. Continue onto I-184 E and take exit 4 for Broadway Ave. Turn right onto Broadway Ave and follow it until you reach Old Penitentiary Rd. Turn left onto Old Penitentiary Rd, and the Old Idaho Penitentiary Site will be on your right at 2445 Old Penitentiary Rd, Boise, ID 83712. Parking is available on-site, and there may be a small entry fee.

To reach the Old Idaho Penitentiary Site via public transportation, take the ValleyRide bus service from downtown Boise. Board the number 19 bus towards the Boise Airport. Get off at the stop nearest to the intersection of Broadway Ave and Old Penitentiary Rd. From there, it is about a 10-minute walk to the site: head east on Old Penitentiary Rd until you arrive at 2445 Old Penitentiary Rd. Please check the bus schedule for the most current times, as service may vary.
