Public Transportation
To get to New Eastside in Chicago from Berwyn, start by heading to the Berwyn Metra Station located at 6820 Windsor Ave. Board the Metra train on the BNSF Railway Line towards Chicago Union Station. The train ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Union Station, exit the train station and head towards the Canal Street exit. From there, you can walk to the nearby 'LaSalle' or 'Clark/Lake' L' train stations. Take the 'Red Line' train towards Howard, and after 3 stops, transfer at 'State/Lake' station to the 'Orange Line' towards Midway. Get off at 'Washington/Wells' station. From there, you can walk east towards New Eastside, which is just a few blocks away along the waterfront.
Walking
If you are already in downtown Chicago, you can reach New Eastside by walking. Start at Millennium Park and head east towards the lakefront. Continue walking along the lake until you reach the area known as New Eastside. It's a pleasant walk that will take about 20-30 minutes, depending on your pace.
Bus
If you prefer taking the bus, you can catch the #60 or #151 bus from various locations in Berwyn to the nearest CTA train stations. For example, take the #60 bus from the Berwyn Metra Station to the Kedzie station, then transfer to the Pink Line towards 18th. Get off at 'Polk' and transfer to the #12 bus heading towards State Street. This will take you directly towards the New Eastside area.
