Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start by navigating to the nearest major city, such as Galena, IL. From Galena, head south on US-20 E for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the intersection with IL-78 N. Turn left onto IL-78 N and continue for about 15 miles until you reach Apple River. Once in Apple River, follow the signs to E Canyon Rd. Turn left on E Canyon Rd, and Apple River Canyon State Park will be on your right at 8763 E Canyon Rd, Apple River, IL 61001.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from nearby cities like Galena to Apple River. Check the local bus service for schedules as it may be limited. Once you arrive in Apple River, you will need to take a taxi or use a rideshare service to reach Apple River Canyon State Park. The park is approximately 3 miles from the bus stop, so plan accordingly.
