Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from any point in the Driftless Area, take Highway 151 North towards Dubuque, Iowa. Continue on 151 North until you reach the exit for US-61 North. Merge onto US-61 North and follow the signs for Dubuque. Once in Dubuque, take the exit toward 1st Avenue/Downtown Dubuque. Turn left onto 1st Avenue, then take a right onto Fenelon Place. The Fenelon Place Elevator Company will be on your left at 512 Fenelon Pl, Dubuque, IA 52001. There is a fee of $4 for a round trip ride on the elevator.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, look for regional bus services that connect the Driftless Area to Dubuque. Once in Dubuque, you can either take a local taxi or rideshare service to reach the elevator. Alternatively, if you prefer to walk from the bus station, head east on 12th Street towards Jackson Street, then turn left on Jackson Street and walk to 1st Avenue. From there, continue to Fenelon Place and follow the directions above to reach the elevator. Be aware that public transport may have limited schedules, so check local timetables in advance.

• Biking

  For those who enjoy biking, you can bike from various locations within the Driftless Area to Dubuque. Ensure you have a safe route planned, as some roads may be busier than others. Once you arrive in Dubuque, use local bike paths to reach Fenelon Place. Lock your bike at designated bike racks near the elevator. Keep in mind that the ride may take some time, so plan accordingly.
