    Start at the Elgin Public Library located at 270 N Grove Ave, Elgin, IL 60120. Exit the library and head east on N Grove Ave toward E Chicago St. Turn left onto E Chicago St and continue until you reach the intersection with N State St. Turn right onto N State St and continue straight. You will pass several shops and restaurants. After about 0.5 miles, turn left onto E Highland Ave. Follow E Highland Ave until it curves into Spring Grove Ave. Bluff Spring Fen will be on your right. Look for the entrance signs.

  • Public Transit (Bus)

    From the Elgin Metra Station (located at 100 W Main St, Elgin, IL 60120), catch the Pace bus Route 801 towards Huntley. Ride the bus for about 20 minutes and get off at the stop at Spring Grove Ave & Bluff Spring Fen. From the bus stop, walk south on Spring Grove Ave for a short distance. Bluff Spring Fen will be on your left side. Follow the entrance signs to access the nature preserve.
