    The Levere Memorial Temple, located at 1856 Sheridan Rd in Evanston, Illinois, is more than just a headquarters; it's a monument to the Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) fraternity's rich history and a memorial to its members who served in wars. Completed in 1930, the Temple was named after William “Billy” Levere, an influential member who envisioned a memorial but didn't live to see its completion.The Temple's architecture is a significant draw, showcasing a distinctive Gothic style crafted from Indiana limestone. Two imposing lions flank the entrance, making the building unmistakable. Inside, the Peace Chapel is particularly stunning, adorned with original Tiffany stained glass windows, which were the most expensive feature of the Temple at the time of their installation. These windows and other artifacts within the Temple chronicle the history of the fraternity.Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the Levere Memorial Temple houses important historical items, including the minutes from SAE's first meeting and memorabilia from famous alumni. The Panhellenic Room in the basement features murals and the coat-of-arms of numerous Greek organizations. The Temple also functions as the administrative center for the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Foundation.
