    Public Transport

    The Field Museum is accessible via the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). Take the Red, Orange, or Green Line to the Roosevelt Station. From there, you can either walk east for about 15 minutes to the museum or catch the #146 bus, which will take you directly to the Museum Campus. A single ride on the CTA bus or 'L' train costs $3. You can also purchase a 24-hour pass for unlimited rides for $5 at Ventra machines in 'L' stations.

    Driving

    The Field Museum is located at 1400 S Lake Shore Dr, Chicago, IL 60605. Parking is available in the Soldier Field North Garage or the East Museum Lot, accessible via Museum Campus Drive. Parking rates at the North Garage are $27 for up to 4 hours and $32 for up to 12 hours. The East Museum Lot is open from 9am to 3pm daily. Be aware that parking rates may be higher during special events. Discounted online parking can be found at Millennium Garages, with Grant Park South being the recommended garage. Other parking options are available through SpotHero and Parking.com.

    From downtown Chicago, you can walk to the Field Museum via the scenic Lakefront Trail. From Chicago Union Station, the walk is approximately 1.9 miles and takes about 37 minutes. Alternatively, from the Roosevelt CTA station, the museum is a 15-minute walk east. Follow the signs and enjoy the views of Lake Michigan as you approach the Museum Campus.
