From the main parking area in Matthiessen State Park, head towards the trails marked on the park map. You will want to take the 'Giant's Bathtub' trail. Follow the signs to stay on this path. After approximately 0.5 miles, you will come across a fork; take the left path leading towards Eagle Cliff Overlook. Continue straight for another 0.3 miles until you reach the overlook. The trail is well-marked and offers beautiful scenery along the way.

If you have a bike, you can also access Eagle Cliff Overlook via the park's biking trails. Starting from the main parking lot, take the 'River Trail' which is approximately 1 mile long. After reaching the intersection with the 'Giant's Bathtub' trail, take a right and follow the signs to the overlook. The biking trails offer a mix of dirt paths and scenic views, making for a pleasant ride.

If you're coming from outside Matthiessen State Park, follow IL-351 into Oglesby. From there, you should look for the entrance to Matthiessen State Park. Once inside, park at the main parking lot. After parking, follow the walking directions above to reach Eagle Cliff Overlook. Please note that there is a parking fee of $5 for vehicles entering the park, which can be paid via a self-serve kiosk.
