Chicago Union Station: A Beaux-Arts Masterpiece

Chicago Union Station, located in the West Loop neighborhood, stands as a testament to the grandeur of early 20th-century railway architecture. Opened in May 1925, after a decade of construction, the station was designed by Graham, Anderson, Probst and White, based on the vision of Daniel Burnham. It serves as Amtrak's flagship station in the Midwest, hosting eight long-distance and eight regional corridor routes, as well as six Metra commuter lines. The station facilitates connections to various transit authorities, including the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), Pace, Greyhound, and more. Recent renovations have restored many of the station's historic spaces, ensuring its continued service for generations to come.
