To reach Chess Records at 2120 S Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL from Palatine, start by taking the Metra Union Pacific Northwest Line train from Palatine Station towards Chicago. The train ride will take approximately 40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Chicago Union Station, exit the train and head towards the Jackson Boulevard exit. From there, walk to the Jackson subway station and take the Pink Line towards 18th. Get off at the Polk stop. Exit the station and walk southeast on Polk Street for about 0.5 miles until you reach S Michigan Ave. Turn left and walk a short distance to find Chess Records on your left at 2120 S Michigan Ave.

From Palatine, take the Pace bus route 610 towards Wheeling/Des Plaines and transfer at the Des Plaines Metra station. Board the Metra North Central Service train towards Chicago Union Station. Once you arrive, follow the same directions as the train option: exit toward Jackson Boulevard, walk to the Jackson subway station, and take the Pink Line to Polk. After exiting at Polk, walk southeast on Polk Street to S Michigan Ave, where Chess Records is located.
