Getting There

Walking
If you're starting from the Palatine Metra Station, exit the station and head southeast on W Wood St toward N Brockway St. Continue straight for about 0.4 miles until you reach N 1st St. Turn left onto N 1st St and walk for about 0.2 miles. You will reach the Palatine Public Library on your right. From there, continue south on N 1st St until you reach E Dundee Rd. Turn left and walk for about 0.5 miles until you reach the Palatine Plaza Shopping Center. From the shopping center, you can catch a Pace Bus #696 heading to the Chicago Loop. The bus will take you directly to downtown Chicago where you can access the Pedway system.

Public Transit
From the Palatine Metra Station, board the Metra Union Pacific Northwest Line train towards Chicago. After approximately a 45-minute ride, disembark at the Chicago Union Station. Once you arrive at Union Station, exit and follow the signs to the 'Chicago Pedway' entrance. The Pedway is located just a short walk from the station exit, and once inside, you can navigate through the interconnected walkways to explore various attractions in the Loop area.

If you prefer to bike, rent a bike from a local rental shop in Palatine. Start at the Palatine Park District bike path and head southeast toward the Central Rd bike path. Follow the path until you reach the intersection with S Northwest Hwy. Continue south on S Northwest Hwy until you reach the intersection with W Dempster St. Turn left onto W Dempster St and continue until you reach the Metra train station. From there, follow the walking directions to the Pedway as described above.
