Public Bus
To get to the Volo Museum from downtown Palatine, first, make your way to the Palatine Metra Station located at 137 W Wood St, Palatine, IL 60067. From there, take the Metra train on the Union Pacific Northwest Line towards Crystal Lake. Alight at the Cary Station (about a 15-minute ride). Once at Cary Station, exit and transfer to the Pace Bus Route 554 towards Volo. This bus will take you directly to Volo Village Rd. Get off at the stop closest to 27582 Volo Village Rd, and you will find the Volo Museum a short walk away.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike in Palatine. Start at the Palatine Park District bike path and head north on the path that connects with the bikeways. Follow the trail towards Volo, which will take you through scenic areas. Continue on the bike path until you reach Volo Village Rd. Turn left onto Volo Village Rd, and the Volo Museum will be on your right. The total biking distance is approximately 10 miles, so make sure to wear a helmet and stay hydrated!

Walking to the Volo Museum is quite a trek from central Palatine. If you're up for it, start at the Palatine Metra Station and head north on N Brockway St. Continue walking north until you reach the intersection with Dundee Rd. Cross Dundee Rd and follow it west until it becomes IL-83 N. Keep walking along IL-83 N and then turn left onto Volo Village Rd. The museum will be located about a mile down this road on your right. Note that this walk is over 8 miles long, so it's advisable to start early and wear comfortable shoes!
