Car
If you are traveling by car, start by heading south on IL-59 or IL-47 from anywhere in Prairie State. Follow the signs for I-55 S. Take I-55 S to the exit for I-80 W. Merge onto I-80 W and continue until you reach the exit for IL-7 W towards Channahon. Turn left onto IL-7 W, then turn right onto W Story St. Continue for about half a mile, and you will arrive at Channahon State Park, located at 25302 W Story St, Channahon, IL 60410. There is no entrance fee for the park.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take the Metra train from Prairie State to the Joliet Station. Once you arrive at the Joliet Station, transfer to the Pace bus route 507 towards Channahon. Get off at the stop closest to W Story St, and from there, it is approximately a 10-minute walk to Channahon State Park. Be sure to check the Metra and Pace schedules for the latest departure and arrival times. The cost for the Metra train ticket to Joliet is around $5.00, and the bus fare is approximately $2.00.
