Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in the city center of Agra, start at the Agra Fort. From the Agra Fort, walk towards the west on Mahatma Gandhi Road for about 1.5 kilometers. After approximately 15-20 minutes of walking, you will reach a fork in the road. Take the left fork onto Fatehabad Road. Continue walking straight for another 1 kilometer, and you will see the entrance to the Taj Mahal on your right.

• Rickshaw

  From your hotel or current location in Agra, you can hire an auto-rickshaw. Ask the driver to take you to the Taj Mahal. The ride should take about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure the driver knows to drop you off at the east gate entrance of the Taj Mahal, which is the most commonly used entrance for tourists.

• Cycle Rickshaw

  If you prefer a more leisurely pace, you can hire a cycle rickshaw from nearby markets or your hotel. Negotiate the fare before you start. The ride to the Taj Mahal will take about 20-25 minutes. The cycle rickshaw can drop you off at the entrance gate, and you can enjoy the sights along the way.

• Public Bus

  For a budget-friendly option, you can take a local bus from the main bus station in Agra. Look for a bus heading towards Fatehabad Road or directly to the Taj Mahal. The bus ride may take around 30 minutes. Once you get off, follow the signs towards the Taj Mahal entrance, which is a short walk from the bus stop.
