Solomon's Temple, situated in Chawlhhmun on the western outskirts of Aizawl, Mizoram, is a testament to faith and architectural grandeur. Built by the Kohhran Thianghlim (The Holy Church), a non-denominational religious group, the temple's design was envisioned by Dr. L.B. Sailo in a dream. The foundation stone was laid in 1996, and after two decades of construction, the temple was inaugurated in 2017. The temple can accommodate 2,000 people inside the main hall and 10,000 in its courtyard. The main building is a square site measuring 180 ft on each side. The temple blends modern design with traditional Mizo construction practices. Its exterior walls face the cardinal directions. The temple features 32 windows, 32 ventilations and 32 skylights. Above the porch, four pillars carry seven David's stars, representing the seven churches of the Book of Revelation. Each tower is topped with a crown, symbolizing salvation, righteousness, life, and overcoming. Beyond its religious significance, Solomon's Temple is an architectural marvel with a peaceful environment and panoramic views. The temple complex includes a natural park with forest trees that provide shade and fruit for local wildlife. Cultural events and festivals showcasing Mizo traditions are periodically held on the temple grounds.
