Start at the Golden Temple, the most famous landmark in Amritsar. From the Golden Temple, walk to the nearby bus stop, which is about a 5-minute walk. Once at the bus stop, look for auto-rickshaws waiting for passengers. Negotiate the fare or use a ride-hailing app if available. Inform the driver that you want to go to Wagah Border, which is approximately 30 km away. The ride should take around 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on traffic.

From the Golden Temple, walk to the bus terminal located at the Amritsar bus stand. It's about a 15-minute walk. Once there, purchase a ticket to Wagah Border. Buses to Wagah Border may not be very frequent, so check the schedule ahead of time. The journey will take around 1 to 1.5 hours. Upon arriving at the Wagah Border, follow the signs to the entrance and security check.

If you are near the Jallianwala Bagh, you can hire a cycle rickshaw. Negotiate the fare with the rickshaw puller before starting your journey.
