Getting There

• Auto-Rickshaw

  If you are in the central area of Amritsar, find an auto-rickshaw stand or simply hail one on the street. Tell the driver 'Golden Temple Area, Papraha Wala Bazar'. The ride should take around 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. The driver will drop you off near the main entrance to the Golden Temple complex.

• Cycle Rickshaw

  For a more traditional experience, you can take a cycle rickshaw. Look for cycle rickshaw stands or wave one down on the street. Inform the rickshaw puller that you want to go to the 'Golden Temple Area, Papraha Wala Bazar'. The journey will take approximately 15-20 minutes. This option is not only economical but also allows you to enjoy the sights along the way.

• Walking

  If you're already in the vicinity of the Golden Temple, you can simply walk there. From anywhere in the city center, head towards the direction of the Golden Temple complex. Look for signs directing you to 'Golden Temple' or ask locals for guidance. Once you reach the Papraha Wala Bazar, continue walking until you see the stunning entrance to the Golden Temple. This walk can take about 20-30 minutes depending on your starting point.

• Local Bus

  Amritsar has a local bus service. Find a nearby bus stop and check the route numbers that go to the Golden Temple area. Buses are usually marked with their destinations. Once on the bus, keep an eye out for announcements or signs indicating stops. Disembark at the stop closest to the Golden Temple, and follow the signs to the entrance. The bus ride may take around 20-30 minutes.
