Located in Bhopal's Shymala Hills, next to REC Campus, the Tribal Habitat, also known as the Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum, is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Madhya Pradesh's tribal communities. Inaugurated in 2013, the museum was designed by Revathi Kamath and provides insight into the lives, traditions, and art of tribes such as the Gond, Bhil, Baiga, Korku, Kol, Bharia, and Sahariya. The museum is divided into six galleries, each focusing on different aspects of tribal life. These include traditional houses made of mud, bamboo, and grass, along with essential items like agricultural tools and earthenware. Visitors can explore exhibits showcasing tribal traditions, wedding ceremonies, festivals, and the spiritual beliefs and myths associated with nature worship. The museum also features a children's gallery with traditional games. The Tribal Habitat aims to increase awareness and understanding of tribal culture among the general public. It is more than just a display of artifacts; it's an immersive experience that connects visitors with the living culture and history of India's indigenous tribes.
