During his stay, a severe smallpox and cholera epidemic struck Delhi. Guru Har Krishan selflessly offered aid, providing fresh water from the well on the property to those afflicted. His compassionate service earned him the respect of locals, and it's believed the water had healing properties.In 1783, Sikh General Sardar Baghel Singh built a small shrine on the site. Over time, this evolved into the majestic Gurdwara Bangla Sahib we see today. The gurdwara complex includes the main prayer hall, a sacred pool (Sarovar), a community kitchen (Langar), and a museum. The Sarovar is believed to possess healing properties, drawing devotees and tourists alike.
