Indraprastha Park: Delhi's Reclaimed Oasis

Indraprastha Park, also called Millennium Indraprastha Park, is a remarkable example of urban transformation, located on the Outer Ring Road in Delhi. Inaugurated in 2004, the park was created from a former landfill site, showcasing the city's commitment to environmental sustainability. Spanning 85 acres, it provides a green lung for Delhiites seeking respite from the urban hustle. The park is named after the legendary city of Indraprastha from the Mahabharata, adding a touch of historical significance to its serene environment. It features diverse themed gardens, including a Fragrant Garden, Bougainvillea Garden, Topiary Garden, and Foliage Garden, offering visually appealing landscapes for relaxation and strolls. A major attraction is the Vishwa Shanti Stupa (World Peace Stupa), inaugurated in 2007 in the presence of the Dalai Lama.
