Heart Lake: Goa's Hidden Gem

Heart Lake, also known as the 'Suicide Point' or 'Yes Point' by some locals, is a unique and naturally formed heart-shaped lagoon located near Bogmalo Beach in South Goa. Unlike the typical sandy beaches Goa is known for, Heart Lake offers a different kind of coastal experience, attracting those who seek offbeat and less crowded destinations. The lake is formed naturally within the rocks and fills with rainwater during the monsoon season, giving it a distinctive heart shape when viewed from above. The surrounding cliffs provide panoramic views of the Arabian Sea, making it a favorite spot for photographers and nature enthusiasts. To reach Heart Lake, visitors typically trek for about 10-15 minutes along a rocky path from Bogmalo Beach. While the trek is relatively short, it involves some rock climbing and can be slippery, especially during the monsoon. The path leads to a fork, with one path leading to the cliff offering a top view of the lake and the other descending towards the lagoon. While swimming in the lake is generally not recommended due to unknown water depth and slippery rocks, visitors can relax by the water, enjoy the sea breeze, and take in the scenic beauty. The spot is also known for its stunning sunset views. Despite its beauty, Heart Lake has faced issues with littering and anti-social activities in the past.
