Discover more about KARIBEERAPPA BEACH GOKARNA

Karibeerappa Beach, nestled in Gokarna, Karnataka, is a serene and relatively secluded beach offering a tranquil escape from the more crowded tourist spots. Known for its stunning sunsets and peaceful ambiance, this hidden gem provides a perfect setting for relaxation and rejuvenation. The beach is accessible via Belehittal Road, branching off the main road south of Gokarna. Gokarna itself is a town steeped in history and mythology. The name Gokarna translates to 'cow's ear' in Sanskrit, derived from the legend of Lord Shiva emerging from the ear of a cow. This connection has made Gokarna a significant pilgrimage site for Hindus. The town was also a major port during the Kadamba dynasty in the 4th century CE, serving as a trading center for spices and precious stones. Today, Gokarna blends its religious importance with its appeal as a beach destination. Karibeerappa Beach offers a more secluded experience compared to the popular Om Beach and Kudle Beach. The journey to the beach itself adds to its charm, with options for walking and enjoying the surrounding natural beauty. While in Gokarna, visitors can explore other nearby attractions such as the Mahabaleshwar Temple, a 4th-century-CE Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, and other beaches like Half Moon and Paradise Beach.
