Auto-rickshaw
From the City Palace, head to the nearest auto-rickshaw stand which is located just outside the palace gates. Inform the driver you want to go to Jal Mahal, which is the local name for the Water Palace. The ride should take around 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Ask the driver to drop you at the entrance where you can have a great view of the palace from the lakeside.
Bus
Locate the nearest bus stop, which is typically near the City Palace or Hawa Mahal. Look for a bus heading towards Amer Fort or Jal Mahal. Buses to this destination are frequent and cost-effective. Once you board, inform the conductor of your stop at Jal Mahal. The journey may take around 30-40 minutes depending on traffic.
Walking
If you're feeling adventurous, you can walk to Jal Mahal from the City Palace. Head north along the main road (Shah Jahan Road) towards Amer, which is approximately a 5 km walk. It will take you about an hour. As you walk, enjoy the local shops and street food stalls. You will reach Jal Mahal, where you can enjoy views of the Water Palace from the lakeside.
Cycle Rickshaw
For a more leisurely experience, hire a cycle rickshaw from a nearby stand. Tell the driver you want to go to Jal Mahal. The ride is more environmentally friendly and will also take around 20-30 minutes. Enjoy the ride as cycle rickshaws often navigate through lesser-known streets, giving you a unique view of Jaipur.
