Auto Rickshaw
From the Jaisalmer Fort, head to the nearby auto rickshaw stand located at the base of the fort. You can easily find one as they are plentiful in this area. Tell the driver you want to go to the Jaisalmer War Museum located in Thaiyat. The ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. The driver will take you along the main road, and you will pass by various local shops and landmarks. Once you reach the museum, it will be on your left; look for the large sign indicating the entrance.

Cycle Rickshaw
If you prefer a more leisurely travel option, you can hire a cycle rickshaw from the main market area near the Fort. Ask the rickshaw puller to take you to the Jaisalmer War Museum in Thaiyat. The journey will also take around 30-40 minutes. Enjoy the sights as you travel through the less busy streets. The rickshaw will drop you off right at the entrance of the museum.

Walking
For those feeling adventurous and fit, walking to the Jaisalmer War Museum is an option. Start from the Jaisalmer Fort and head towards the main road. Walk straight to the intersection with Ghandi Chowk, then take a left. Continue walking straight until you reach the outskirts of the city where you’ll find the museum. The walk may take about 1.5 to 2 hours, so ensure you have plenty of water and wear comfortable shoes.

Local Bus
You can also take a local bus from the Jaisalmer Bus Stand. The buses to Thaiyat are frequent and economical. Board the bus heading towards Thaiyat and inform the conductor that you wish to get off at the Jaisalmer War Museum. The journey will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Thaiyat stop, follow the signs or ask locals for directions to the museum, which is a short walk from there.
