Getting There

• Bus

  From Jammu, head to the Jammu Bus Stand, located near the city center. You can take an auto-rickshaw or a taxi to reach the bus stand if you're not walking. Look for buses that are headed to Srinagar, as this is the primary entry point into the Kashmir Valley. The bus journey will take approximately 8 to 12 hours, depending on the traffic and road conditions. Ensure to check the schedule as buses may not run frequently.

• Train

  First, make your way to the Jammu Tawi Railway Station. You can reach the station via auto-rickshaw or taxi. Book a train ticket to Udhampur or Katra, which are the closest railway stations to the Kashmir Valley. From Udhampur, you can take a shared taxi or a local bus to reach Srinagar. The total travel time, including the train and subsequent taxi or bus, may take around 8 to 10 hours.

• Shared Taxi

  If you prefer a more comfortable and faster option, you can find shared taxis at various locations in Jammu, especially near the bus stand or major hotels. Look for taxis that offer a ride to Srinagar. The shared taxi will take around 6 to 8 hours, depending on traffic conditions. Ensure you agree on the fare and the route with the driver before starting your journey.

• Helicopter Service

  For a unique experience, consider booking a helicopter service from Jammu to Srinagar. The helipad is located near the Jammu Airport. You will need to check the timings and book your tickets in advance. The helicopter journey will take about 30 minutes, providing you with breathtaking views of the mountains and valleys. Upon arrival at Srinagar, you can take a local taxi to explore the Kashmir Valley.
