Getting There

• Auto-rickshaw

  Begin your journey at the Jodhpur Railway Station. Exit the station and head to the auto-rickshaw stand located just outside the main entrance. Request the driver to take you to Bal Samand Lake. The ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic. The driver may ask if you are familiar with the location, so it's helpful to mention that you want to go to the lake near the Bal Samand Palace.

• Cycle rickshaw

  If you're starting from the Mehrangarh Fort, you can hire a cycle rickshaw from the base of the fort. Tell the rickshaw puller to take you to Bal Samand Lake. The journey will take about 25-35 minutes. Enjoy the scenic route as you pass through local neighborhoods and markets. Ensure you have the exact location ready to show the rickshaw puller if needed.

• Public Bus

  From the main bus station in Jodhpur (Bapu Bazar), look for buses heading towards Bal Samand. You will need to ask locals or the bus conductor for the specific bus number that goes to Bal Samand Lake. This option is more economical but may take longer, around 45 minutes to 1 hour. Once you reach the nearest bus stop to Bal Samand, you can walk the remainder of the distance to the lake.

• Walking

  If you're near the Umaid Bhawan Palace, you can opt for a longer walk to Bal Samand Lake. Start walking towards the road leading to the lake. It is approximately a 4 km walk and will take about 1 hour. Follow the signs pointing towards Bal Samand or ask locals for directions along the way. The path is quite scenic, and you will enjoy the view of surrounding gardens and trees.
