Car
From Kashmir Great Lakes, head towards Srinagar. If you are near Sonamarg, take the NH 1D road and continue towards Srinagar. Once you reach Srinagar, look for signs leading to Durgjan. The Sri Shankaracharya Temple is situated on Shankaracharya Hill, which is approximately 6 km from the city center. You can park your car at the base of the hill and then proceed on foot. Note that there is a small parking fee of around ₹20.

If you prefer to use public transport, take a local bus or shared taxi from Kashmir Great Lakes to Srinagar. Once in Srinagar, head towards the Lal Chowk area. From Lal Chowk, you can take a taxi or auto-rickshaw to reach the foothills of Shankaracharya Hill. The fare for the taxi or auto-rickshaw should be around ₹100-₹150. After reaching the base of the hill, you will need to walk up to the temple, which is about 2 km uphill. Be prepared for a bit of a climb!
