Car
If you are driving, head towards Srinagar from your current location in Kashmir Great Lakes. The most direct route is via the NH44 highway. Once in Srinagar, follow the signs for Dal Lake as you enter the city. Boulevard Road is the main access road to Dal Lake, which will be on your right side. The lake is located at Boulevard Rd, Karapura, Durgjan, Srinagar, 190003. Parking may be available near the lake, but be prepared for potential parking fees.
Public Transportation
To reach Dal Lake using public transportation, take a local bus or shared taxi from the nearest bus station in your current location. Buses frequently run to Srinagar, and the journey typically takes around 2-3 hours depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the main bus terminal in Srinagar, you can take an auto-rickshaw or a local taxi to Dal Lake. Ask the driver to take you to Boulevard Rd, Karapura, Durgjan. The cost for the auto-rickshaw should be around ₹100-150.
Combining Transport
A convenient option is to take a train (if available) or bus to Jammu, then another bus from Jammu to Srinagar. Once in Srinagar, you can use local transport (auto-rickshaw or taxi) to Dal Lake. Be sure to check the schedules ahead of time, as they can vary. Estimated costs include ₹500-1000 for the train/bus to Jammu and around ₹500 for the bus from Jammu to Srinagar, plus local transport costs.
