If you are traveling by car, start from Srinagar. Take the NH1D towards Sonamarg, which is approximately 80 km away and will take around 2 to 3 hours depending on traffic. Once you reach Sonamarg, look for the road leading to the Thajiwas Glacier. Continue on this road for about 12 km until you reach the parking area near the Thajiwas Glacier, where you can leave your car. From here, you will need to trek to Vishansar Lake. The trek is about 7 km and will take roughly 3 to 4 hours. Make sure to carry enough water and snacks for the trek.

Public Transportation
To reach Vishansar Lake using public transportation, first take a bus or shared taxi from Srinagar to Sonamarg. The bus ride takes about 2 to 3 hours and costs around INR 100-200. Once you arrive in Sonamarg, you will need to hire a local taxi to take you to the Thajiwas Glacier parking area or you may take a pony ride if you prefer. The cost for a pony ride to the starting point of the trek is approximately INR 800-1000. After reaching the parking area, you will trek about 7 km to reach Vishansar Lake, which will take 3 to 4 hours.

The trek to Vishansar Lake begins at the Thajiwas Glacier parking area. The path is well-marked but can be steep and rocky in places.
