If you're traveling by car, start from Alleppey (Alappuzha). Head north on NH66 towards Kochi. Continue for about 30 kilometers until you reach the Kumbalam Bridge. Take the exit towards Aroor. Once on Aroor - Kumbalam Bridge, Vembanad Lake will be visible on your right. There are parking facilities available along the bridge.

From Alleppey, take a local bus heading towards Kochi. Look for buses that stop at Kumbalam or Aroor. The journey will take about 45 minutes to an hour depending on traffic. Inform the conductor to drop you off at Kumbalam Bridge. From there, it will be a short walk to the lake.

The nearest railway station to Vembanad Lake is the Kochi (Ernakulam) Junction. Take a train from your current location to Kochi. Upon arrival at Kochi Junction, you can take an auto-rickshaw to Kumbalam, which is approximately 15 kilometers away. This will cost around ₹200-₹300. Once you reach Kumbalam, the lake will be easily accessible.
