From Leh, head to the main bus stand located near the Old Leh Market. Look for buses or shared taxis heading to Panggong Lake. Buses typically depart in the early morning around 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM. The journey takes about 6-8 hours. Make sure to confirm with the bus operator that they are going directly to Panggong Lake or to Spangmik village, which is close to the lake.

Shared Taxi

At the main taxi stand in Leh, you can find shared taxis heading to Panggong Lake. It's advisable to arrive early in the morning. The shared taxi will take you to Panggong Lake via the Chang La Pass, one of the highest motorable roads in the world. The trip may take around 5-7 hours depending on road conditions. Ensure to negotiate the fare before boarding, and confirm if the taxi will be returning to Leh on the same day.

Trekking
