From the main market area in Leh, head towards the Leh Manali Highway (NH 3). This is the main road you will use. As you walk, keep an eye out for signs pointing towards Shey. The walk is approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on your pace. Once you reach the highway, turn left and continue walking for about 2 kilometers. You will see Shey Palace on your right. The entrance is clearly marked.

Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Leh, which is a popular option for tourists. Start from the main market and ride towards the Leh Manali Highway (NH 3). Once you reach the highway, turn left and pedal along the road for about 2 kilometers. Shey Palace will be on your right side. Make sure to stay on the left side of the road for safety.
